Hi!  My name is Peter Biersteker.  I am13 years old and live in Pilot Hill, California.  I went to HartSong Ranch Animal Sanctuary and right when I saw all the animals I knew I wanted to help them.  So I started by putting out 2 cans for people to put donations in.  Then I put an article in a local newspaper and people started sending me checks for donations.  So far, I have raised $7,500.00 for the animals at HartSong.  HartSong Ranch has a lot of different animals.  They rescue horses, chickens, dogs, goats, cows and a pig.  Many of them are blind and everybody needs special care.

 

 

One of the horses is named Ciara.  Ciara was born blind.  She is the one that definitely won me over.  She is so nice and calm and lovable.  The sad part about Ciara was when she was very little, she was put in a shed which had nails sticking out of the wood that gave her so many puncture wounds on her little body.  Who could leave a baby horse in such a hazardous place?  They must have known that she would get hurt.

That’s when Jim and Kathy Hart came to the rescue.  They take care of animals that need special care and heard about this baby horse and they knew they had to do something.  So they went to see her and agreed to take the baby home.

 

 

 

With months of love and caring for Ciara, she is now a beautiful filly who is free to roam the hills of HartSong.

She is so happy.  

Ciara and all the other animals are happy and healthy.  HartSong Ranch is a beautiful ranch where these animals can roam and feel the wind in their hair.  It is a paradise for special animals that have no place else to go.  They deserve to live out their lives in a safe and loving place and to help make sure they will always have a home I would like to continue with my quest in raising money for the animals.
